SMART, but not RICH
When I was working my 9 to 5, I looked at some business owners and thought, "I am smarter than them," so why don't I earn more money than they do? 🤷♂️
Sounds arrogant, but familiar, right? Over the years, I realized money is not directly proportional to how smart I am. Look at the top 10 richest people in the world — none of them are doctors or PhDs. So, what makes them more successful than others? 🤔
PART 1: SKILL — I may be good at multiple things, but I have to be known for ONE. After following the FIGJAM process, I realized that my #1 skill is storytelling. And this ONE skill helps me with YouTube, coaching, mortgages, and even writing this newsletter 🚀
PART 2: RISK — You know what stops us from monetizing our skill? It's not the lack of ideas. It's the lack of action that comes from fear of losing. Two things helped me rationalize risk: Preparation (I saved $62,000 in 1 year) and Regret (asking myself which regret is bigger — not trying, or trying and failing?).
PART 3: NETWORK — I am the average of 5 people around me. I choose to surround myself with people who are positive. I am the least successful entrepreneur in my mastermind. This keeps me grounded. Change your circle, change your circumstances.
PART 4: LUCK — I cannot call our travel agent scam anything else — it was pure LUCK! However, we have to create enough chances for ourselves.
SKILLS + RISK + NETWORK + LUCK — Add these to hard work & incredible grit, and it can turn into SUCCESS 🚀 Is it guaranteed? No! But if you are the kind of person who would regret not trying, you know what to do 😉
