Most People Don't Actually Want to Be Rich
The other day, I was reading YouTube comments on one of my videos — someone asked a basic question about TFSAs.
I smiled for a second… and then it hit me. People are following Grow with Nav and still don't understand how a TFSA works. Or how compounding actually grows your money 📈
That sent me down a small rabbit hole — Am I not making content that's simple enough to learn and implement? Or is it something deeper?
And then it clicked — It's not me. It's priorities. 🎯
Most people don't actually make investing a priority. They say they want to build wealth… but it's somewhere below Netflix, the next vacation, or a new iPhone on their list 🍿✈️📱 Probably, not in the top 5 or 10 on that list.
If I were living paycheque to paycheque… 💵 I'd still make investing a priority. And if I didn't have enough money to invest, I'd make "making more money" my new priority 💪
Because priorities don't disappear when things get tough — they simply shift to what's blocking them. If financial freedom is your goal, then your first priority isn't "saving" — it's earning enough to save. And once you can save, it's investing those savings. That's how the chain moves forward 🔗
The truth about priorities: The top priority in life is rarely easy to achieve. It's often the hardest.
For some, it's health — working out when you're tired 🏋️♂️
For others, it's relationships — choosing empathy over ego ❤️
For some, it's mental peace — saying no when everyone expects a yes 🧘♀️
And for some, it's financial health — building wealth from scratch 💰
But that's the point — a real priority isn't measured by how easy it feels, but by how much effort you're willing to give when it's hard. ⚡️
Here's what I remind myself every week: 🪞 If something truly matters, I'll find a way to make it happen — and if I don't, I'll find an excuse.
So before you ask "which bank gives 8% in TFSA?", ask yourself: 👉 Have I made learning about money my priority yet?
Because that's how everything changes. 🌱
