Unfollow Me
I’ve said this before in my videos.
While building my business, I passed out twice.
Both times, I had pushed myself way too far.
And weirdly… I still believe it was worth it.
I would probably do it again.
But that doesn’t mean burnout is healthy.
And it definitely doesn’t mean everyone should live like that.
What I understand more now, especially after becoming a dad, is that burnout is not just “I worked too much.”
Burnout is deeper than that.
It’s the pressure to provide.
The pressure to be present.
The pressure to grow.
The pressure to not fail your family.
The pressure to answer one more call when your brain is already done. 😮💨
And I’ve seen it with Simran too.
After she became a mom, I saw a kind of pressure that men don’t fully understand.
Postpartum pressure.
Family pressure.
The guilt of wondering if you’re doing enough for your child… even when you’re doing everything.
That stuff is real.
And we don’t talk about it enough.
We talk about money.
Investing.
Mortgages.
Business.
Retirement.
Growth. 📈
And yes, all of that matters.
But sometimes, the smartest thing you can do is not open another spreadsheet.
Sometimes, it’s to close the laptop.
Go for a walk.
Sleep.
Book the trip.
Put the phone away.
Stop consuming content that makes you feel behind.
Even mine.
That’s why the subject of this email is Unfollow Me.
Because if my videos, emails, or posts are making you anxious at a time when you’re already burnt out…
You don’t need me right now.
You need a break.
For the last 18 months, I’ve felt it too.
Arian is a toddler now.
The real estate market has been tough.
The team has been under pressure.
Business has required more energy than usual.
And life at home needs me too.
So while you’re reading this, I’m in Quebec with my family. 🤍
Ten days.
No big plan.
Just trying to disconnect.
Because not everything is urgent.
Not every message needs a reply today.
Not every opportunity needs to be chased.
Not every season is meant for pushing harder.
Sometimes the season is just about breathing again.
So if you’re burnt out right now, please hear this:
You’re not lazy.
You’re not weak.
You don’t need to prove your ambition by breaking yourself.
Take the break.
Mute the noise.
Unfollow people if you need to.
Come back when your mind has space again.
I’ll still be here talking about mortgages, investing, retirement, and building a better life.
But none of that matters if you’re quietly falling apart while trying to build it.
Rest is not quitting.
Sometimes, rest is the thing that lets you continue. 🤍
P.S. Hit reply and tell me honestly:
Are you building, burning out, or recovering right now?
No perfect answer.
Just the real one.
